Christmas - My Favorite Time of the Year

Christmas is My favorite time of the YearπŸŽ„πŸŽ„

Do you remember when the kids were all snuggled up in their πŸ›Œ beds waiting for St. Nicolas to rush down the chimney and bring them their presents.?
I remember wanting to talk to Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer when I was a kid.
Seems like I was always asleep when he had time to only stop for a quick moment in time to make his delivery helping good old St. Nick.

I remember when Christmas was much less commercialized.
It seemed simple and maybe because as children we didn’t have all the responsibility of shopping for gifts, decorating the tree, and cleaning the house when our family got ready to have our big Christmas.

One year when I was about 8 years old, I set my alarm clock and decided to go and unwrap Christmas presents because I was just too excited to wait until the morning.
Luckily my Dad was still awake, apparently wrapping presents so my plan never became a reality.
I got a really nice new bike that year thou, without training wheels so I was pumped!

Anyone reading remember the great etch a sketch?
I loved that thing.
It was like our own iPad ( not really ) it was heavy but tons of fun!
As I got older and had children we would put up our Christmas tree and decorate and make Christmas ornaments and carry on our family traditions.

Christmas in our house was also my parents' Wedding Anniversary.
My daddy never wanted to forget their anniversary and get in trouble for missing an Anniversary so he married my Mom on Christmas.
It worked out really well for her because she gots lots of Anniversary and Christmas gifts each year.

This year I’m going to decorate with all of my Christmas decorations and make sure that I have some great music to listen too.
I love listening to Christmas carols and have many favorites like:
  • Silent Night
  • O Come, All Ye Faithful
  • Little drummer boy
I also love listening to White Christmas and Perry Como from years ago.
Elvis is always a favorite this time of year.

What is something that is a favorite family tradition that you would like to share with us?
We would love to learn more about our readers.
Please share your favorite Christmas memory or your favorite family holiday tradition.
