I know this story is certainly not reminiscent of how more modern adoptions work,
but when I was growing labeling of other people seemed to be the favorite pastime.
I may be dating myself, but one of my primary caregivers (someone in a maternal role) had a chronic illness.
Osteoporosis
Back then folks that walked differently became labeled.
This is when I first learned about the word disabled.
Handicapped was the more predominant labeling years ago.
I’m fairly certain the pain from her osteoporosis was extremely difficult for her to maintain and keep under control.
So she wasn’t someone looking at healing.
She was seen by so many specialists back in the day that she and my adopted father maxed out insurance coverage on her.
Because of her pain, she suffered greatly and used verbal abuse as her method of discipline.
I remember a friend telling a story about forgiveness in 1993 that changed her life.
She forgave her own father for improper touching.
She led him to accept Christ before he died and fully forgave him.
Her entire financial picture changed dramatically after her return trip from forgiving her father.
Forgiveness of those that trespass against us is truly rewarding, fulfilling, and good for our hearts.
I know I’m blessed by forgiving my adopted Mom.
The significant point I make here is that adoption was taught as a subject you never discussed in our home.
In today’s society, I pray all adopted children receive nurturing and deep love.
I personally was blessed by a 14-year-old sister growing up an 11-year-old brother who we share beautiful and happy times together.
We had a very strong, kind, and compassionate father we loved dearly.
I’m fortunate to have reunited with my birth mother years ago and feel grateful each day!
I’m a huge believer in love and a huge believer in being childlike.
Here are 2 essential oils that I believe help the adopted soul.
I would apply these 2 oils together as your morning ritual to always start your day fresh, clean, joyful, and a brain with more oxygen...
